The Midwives
Kristin Eggleston, LM, CPM
Kristin owns Sunrise Midwifery in Prosser, Washington. She is a direct-entry midwife who has completed the Washington state requirements for practicing midwifery and received her license in April 2009. She is also a nationally Certified Professional Midwife.
Kristin's family are all directly involved in medicine, as doctors and nurses. She has traveled extensively, and is fluent in French and functional in Spanish. Her son was also born at home and breastfed.
Her formal education includes a BA in Anthropology from the University of Notre Dame in 1996, undergraduate study at Seattle Midwifery School and Lewis Clark State College, and a BA in Midwifery from Midwives College of Utah in 2009. Her areas of research included evaluating potential causes for the reduced incidence of Group B Strep in newborns in out-of-hospital vs the higher incidence of infection in hospital settings.
Other education and experience includes IBLCE Professional Lactation Educator, DONA Labor Support, ICEA Childbirth Educator, and Natural Family Planning Educator (which she teaches for Sunrise Midwifery clients).
Her clinical training includes office experience with a family practice doctor, out-of-hospital births with homebirth midwives in Washington and Idaho, birth center births at Casa de Nacimiento in Texas, and hospital births in Idaho.
She is available for women's health care and childbirth education at her office in Prosser, and home birth services throughout the Yakima Valley. She also travels south into Klickitat county to assist Lorri at births.

Lorri Ellen Carr, Licensed Midwife
Lorri owns Highland Midwife Birth Services in Goldendale, Washington. She is a direct-entry midwife with over 20 years of birthing experience, who has completed the Washington state requirements for practicing midwifery and received her license in March 2008.
Lorri had all of her own 5 children out of hospital, and was a nursing mother for about 10 years; now she is a grandmother of 2. She lives with her husband in the foothills of the Simcoe mountains where she breeds Arabian horses.
Her formal education includes a degree in Pre-Med Biology, undergraduate study at Seattle Midwifery School, and graduate study at Midwives College of Utah which will soon result in a Masters of Science in Midwifery as well as CPM certification. Her areas of midwifery research are primarily in nutrition during pregnancy, and she is developing her PhD research study on perinatal Omega-3 and Vitamin D therapy.
Other education and experience includes Emergency Medical Technician Basic, IBLCE Professional Lactation Educator, DONA Labor Support, ICEA Childbirth Educator, and massage/physiotherapy specializing in pregnancy and injury rehab with licensure as an LMT, LMP, and ICMTBP international certification. She has been appointed as an Adjunct Assitant Instructor for the northwest branch of A.T. Still University of Osteopathic Medicine, and approved as a preceptor for Birthingway College of Midwifery in Portland Oregon.
Her midwifery training took place in a wide range of settings, including out-of-hospital (home and birth center) births with several types of midwives and doctors, births in hospitals with doctors and nurse midwives, and clinical obstetric and gynecology care for thousands of women.

Rebekah owns Moms Are Us & Kids 2 clinic in Kennewick - see her website.
We mutually refer, so that we provide home births for her clients who desire them, and she provides hospital births for our clients who need them.
Dr. Virginia Frazer, ND, LM
Ginger owns Blue Heron Naturopathic Care clinic in Kennewick - see her website.
We mutually refer, and sometimes assist each other at births when needed.
Shannon Bennett, CPM
Shannon is also available to assist at births. She is a home birth Certified Professional Midwife who is also located in Tri-Cities.
